The 2025 People’s Slate is a group of five candidates who have pledged to work on The People’s Platform and advance real solutions to Bridgeport’s most pressing issues.

BRIDGEPORT, August 18, 2025 | The Unrig Bridgeport Coalition announces The 2025 People’s Slate, a slate of political endorsements in support of five outstanding candidates running for the Bridgeport City Council and Board of Education, ahead of the city’s fall municipal elections.
The endorsed slate of candidates includes 4 incumbents who have demonstrated their independence and 1 newcomer. Each has pledged to advance real policies that support public education, affordable housing, public safety, and the economy; help to fix the city’s broken democracy; and fight the political corruption that has stifled Bridgeport’s growth. Unrig Bridgeport’s slate of endorsed candidates includes:

“The Unrig Bridgeport coalition is excited and proud to support our 2025 People’s Slate in this year’s municipal elections. If we expect to have a strong, functioning democracy on the national level, we have to start here with our local elections. These five candidates are ready to get to work.” said Gemeem Davis, President and Co-Director of Bridgeport Generation Now Votes.
All candidates running for City Council and the Board of Education were invited to participate in the Unrig Bridgeport endorsement process by completing a publicly available candidate questionnaire, participating in a candidate interview, and taking “The People’s Pledge” to support 80% of policies laid out in The People’s Platform. The Platform lays out a transformative vision for the issues Bridgeport voters care most about: funding education, making housing more affordable, delivering real public safety and justice, ensuring new jobs, improving our roads, ending corruption and more. The platform, which was officially released on March 25, 2023, was informed by thousands of conversations with residents at community events and meetings throughout the city, as well as a citywide public opinion poll.
An endorsement committee made up of leaders from the Unrig Bridgeport Coalition reviewed, evaluated, and interviewed all participating candidates and made endorsement decisions accordingly.
